MILITARY: Commissioned a lieutenant of Infantry in 1961. Served in a wide variety of command and staff positions for the following twenty-one years, including two combat tours on the DMZ in Korea and a tour as an advisor to ARVN Infantry and Ranger battalions in Vietnam.
